Type-Rated Course Topics

Based on the EASA/CAO.IRI regulations, when an aircraft technician acquires Basic Aircraft Maintenance Licence (Basic AML), he/she is eligible to follow the next steps on the way of receiving a Type-Rated AML:

  • Enough experience of working on live aircraft, and
  • Successfully passing an aircraft Type course

When these requirements are met, the technician can apply for Type Rating endorsement for his/her Basic AML from the Authority. In addition to a valid Type-Rated AML, special authorisation of an organisation is required to let the technician release an aircraft to service after finishing the required maintenance. It is not finished! The technician should remain always up-to-dated in the following fields:

  • Type-Rating experience and knowledge
  • Some general knowledge (→General Topics tab)
